Reflective Flash Gels

For some reason, a couple of months back, I became obsessed with reflective or flash gels. These have a reflective glitter that catches in the light, causing a super bright sparkly effect. Under spotlights, they look amazing!!

I have a few more of these to add, but these I have swatched ready for today’s post. I’m on my second night shift tonight, so not much day time available to get nail practice and a website update in the schedule.

Top row are all Lecente. From left to right – Jack Flash, Black Russian, Creme de Menthe and Theatre Royal,

This is 3 coats of each, as, without a coloured base coat they are transparent, then topped with no wipe shiny top coat. Due to the increased number of layers, they end up quite bulky.

Bottom row are TGB. Headlights and Spotlight.

Headlights has flecks of larger glitter pieces in it – the black ones stand out the most I think. The thicker glitters give this nail even more bulk than the other gels with a finer glitter particle.

Spotlight is a lovely lilac colour with reflective glitter.

I love how these look, but I am not sure how practical they are. Without the flash, they look a lot dimmer. Not sure where I would ever wear the Creme de Menthe, but I’m sure at some point, I’ll find a reason to wear super sparkly reflective green gel nails.

I think Headlight is my fave – will have to try a couple of swatches with different colour bases. It makes me think of sand, so maybe a beach themed set would be a good look / design to use this one.

TTFN!
