Tortie nails

Today’s set is tortoise shell nails. Been meaning to do these for a while, but when I really want to do or try something, I put it off for as long as I can. Procrastination? Fear of failure, or not reaching perfection? Who knows. Maybe I’ll journal about it tomorrow. Already journalled for today.

So, for these I started off with Nail Order Bestie medium coffin size tips. Filed them smooth and ready to go. I painted 9 of the ten with TGB Retro and left the other unpainted. I then foiled them with some random tortie foil from Temu or Shein. I have thousands of nail foils and I couldn’t find any of them, anywhere. Fab foils from Magpie and Hona – couldn’t find them – will probably only see them again when I re-order them in the sale. Fumin!

Once I had them foiled I went over with a jelly browny / orange colour – probably from Shein and this perfectly filled in the gaps from the foils and any uneven edges. Then, I added gold leaf and sealed them in with top coat.

For the final nail I foiled half, then added a gold glittery strip. Sealed this with two coats of non wipe shiny top coat and bagged them up to add to the stock pile. Another day, another set of press ons to stick with my handbag and shoe collection for when I never leave the house.
