Stamptastic Practice Session

For today’s practice session I decided to work on a few more stamps and become more acquainted with some of the Ink gels I have and revisit a couple of green TGB’s I have.
On the left: Ink Wild Thyme stamped with Yours plate Dots and Diamonds using the Moyra Black stamping gel. I wanted to see if I could get a good cover for the full stamp, so the bits that show through are the background colour. I then added a Hona chrome to finish off.
Nail number 2: Ink Sweet Pea base, stamped with Yours plate Snow Fall. There are a couple of bits missing in the top half pink stamp. I should have wiped it off and done it again, but thought I’d get away with it. News flash! I didn’t. These are stamped with Moyra Peony Red top half and Gold Chrome on the bottom half.
Nail number 3: This is Ink Solstice base, stamped in Moyra Smart Stamping polish in Orange. I loved how this looked – especially when still matte, but you know me, had to add more. I used the swirly pattern from the Yours Is The Bar Okay plate for the swirls. I added a holo silver butterfly sticker, which is, as usual, off centre and really pee’s me off when I look at it. I sealed in the sticker with 2 coats of Magpie Give Me Strength in clear, and no wipe top coat to finish.
Nail number 4: TGB Peppermint for the base, which is definitely a neon green with sparkle. It’s very nice. I used a couple of stamps from the MoYou Bridal 02 plate and decided this was going to be a Joker style nail. I used the Moyra stamping gel in black for the stamp, pre-curing on the stamp for 5 seconds to help it semi-set before removing bits I didn’t want from the stamper or from when I applied on to the nail, before curing fully and adding top coat.
On the Right: TGB Bora Bora base coat. I think this is about 4 coats to get the coverage as it’s a transparent sparkle. It would be stunning over nails in different colours as a sparkly top coat.
I used the Kads Zoo 009 plate to have another go at the banana print with Moyra stamping polish in yellow, and used Moyra stamping gel in black for the outlines. Much better line up than on my previous attempt. The stamping gel is much easier to use when you apply the stamp to the plate with no pressure at all and cure for 5 seconds on the stamper. Plus, it’s still wet so sticks to the dry surface really well. This stamp design just has to be finished in matte. I just need to figure out how to repeat the pattern all over the nail as it’s such a shame to not have it reaching the edges.
