Stamping Practice

Nail stamping practice

So, yesterday’s practice with the Light Elegance gels and Traditions, meant I had a few tips all ready to go. Time to try out more stamping.

These are done using Moyra stamping polish – all varieties, and chromes from the eyeshadow applicators I’ve already used. Apart from the wings and feathers, and the mountain rain – these ones I got a new applicator for.

Plates I’ve used here:
Kads Nature 060 for the top centre and the 1st tip with the angel wing and feathers
Kads Sky 011 for the space scene on the 1st tip in the top row, the last tip on the top row, and the last tip bottom row, the mountain rain.
Yours Fine Marble for 3rd tip, top row, 1st tip bottom row, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd tip bottom row.

Last time I tried the fine lines on the Yours plate it wouldn’t work, so I guess it needed a good clean and good stamping polish to be really effective, as this time, the lines were all super perfect.

The stamping polishes are so quick to dry, sometimes I can’t get them on to the tip before they no longer stick. Having a bit of sticky on the nail, maybe foil gel would probably be the best way of making them stick. Or, maybe not removing the inhibition layer might work also.

I’m not really that keen on any of these if I’m honest, all a bit meh!

Thumb is gel with foil

Then I decided to sort out my right hand thumb, which still had the blue with silver snowflake design from Christmas, plus a couple of weeks of growth showing at the bottom.

This photo looks dreadful! Or maybe it looks accurate and the nail looks dreadful.

For this I used Nail Order Angel in Glory for the base. I don’t seem to be able to put this down without getting air bubbles in it.

Over the top is Ink Abracadabra, then Lecente Rose Bush nail foil and TGB Extreme Shine Top Coat. I used the Glitter Planet foil gel, cured for 120 seconds to stick the foil.

I also went shopping on MoYou and filled a basket with sale stamping plates. Then I found a discount code SPECIAL15 online, and it worked and was so so tempted to buy – it would have only been £12 per month over 3 months. But the thought that then I would have already lost my yearly challenge won over and I didn’t go ahead. Yay – little victory for me.
