Stamping and hand painting

Love lavender. Love, love, love it. Just can’t keep it alive when I try to grow it. Clear Jelly Stamper have a new medium size plate out, called Lavender Grove. So, in a bid to stop myself from spending more money, I decided to try and hand paint my own. How hard can it be, right? Hard. Especially if you aren’t that great at art.
So the last 3 are my attempt at hand painting lavender, using TGB and CJP gels, a striper brush, a dotting tool, and a small art brush. Not bad, needs practice, as they are not as good as I would like, and I still need to buy the plate in my mind.
The first three above are from a CJS plate. These are designs where there is a solid stamp with a curve, and then the flowers and swirls are stamped over the top. I’ve had similar plates for a while, but never been brave enough to try them. I’m so afraid of failure, I’d rather not try for some bizarre reason, and I’m so glad I did – as these are gorgeous. Way too big for my nails, but this is a really gorgeous look and one I will definitely do more of in the future.
Bien!
