Purple Chameleon Chrome
Still trying to do a colour shifting magical themed press on nail set. So close with this one, but sadly, still no cigar.
For this set I used Nailchemy Loki for the base – it’s a beautiful purple with pink undertones that has been one of my favourite colours since I bought it. I gave it a really good whirl with the imix whilst I got tea on. At least 25 – maybe even 35 – minutes.
I used Apres long coffin tips, filed the edges and did 3 thin coats of Loki for the effect I wanted. Then I top coated and added Hona Crystal Ball chrome to give it the colour shifting vibe. I decided I would have a go at adding stickers directly to the chrome without top coating and that was a total no. As soon as I attempted to smooth the edges of the sticker I removed the chrome, so I finished that first one, got it to a point of safety and top coated the rest of the nails to protect the chrome.
Finding stickers that fit what I was looking for was a total fail and these red and gold supernatural / arcane kind of feel were the closest I had in my stash. How can I have the 100’s of sets of stickers that I have and still not have a match is beyond me. Like, I literally have thousands of sticker packs and my hand painting skills are just not up to scratch, plus I didn’t want to stamp or paint as it would have been another 3 days to complete and I could not be arsed.
It has taken a while for me to get motivated to create another set recently. Been there, done that and lacking motivation and creativity. Hopefully, I’ll be able to pick it up again tomorrow.
Here’s the finished set. Plain nails just look too boring now. These look nice, but I think they are going to be too long to be practical. Purely for fun. I’ve got some claw shaped nail tips coming, along with some new enchanted witchy style stamping plates- the plan is to do some cool Halloween nails for fun.
Oh, and what I wouldn’t give to be able to stick stickers on straight. Honestly, I tried so hard to line these up and every single one was wonky. Bah!!!
