6 nails for today’s play practice session.

Top left: This is a pre coloured tip with a stamp from the Moyra Step by Step plate. I need to play with this more, and master the layered stamping, so, starting easy. This is a simple star fill, with outline. From the tutorials I’ve been watching on the Moyra website, I’ve used the normal stamping polish in yellow for the colour and outlined in the foil stamping polish as it has a slower drying time, so you have more time to work with. I just need to line them up better.

Top 2nd: Same plate, different pattern – 3 layers this time, and yes, they need lining up much better. Regular stamping polish in pink and berry, with the foil polish again for the outline.

Top 3rd: another idea from the Moyra website. A light grey base – although this is too dark, with a white all over stamp. Top coated, buffed and a mandala stamped using the gel stamping polish. This has then been chromed. I’m using the Moyra Macabre plate for this one.

Top right: Another design from Moyra. This is supposed to be a pearl white base, but I couldn’t be arsed finding one, so went for a pale pink magnetic from Born Pretty and a Festive MoYou plate for the Merry Christmas text and the snowman. The snowflakes came from the Crystal MoYou plate. This was stamped in the normal stamping polish in brown and beige. Because I’ve used a pink base, rather than a white, the beige doesn’t really show up much, so I went over the top of those snowflakes on the left with the brown again. I love this layered but not layered stamping design.

Bottom left: Just a mini crystal design off BlueStreak. This used baguettes and a connector, but they aren’t in the right sizes so it looks a bit naff. I priced up the actual serenity crystals and it would have cost me £16 to purchase the right crystals. It would have done more than one nail, but ouch!

Bottom centre: Another Moyra tutorial. Theirs used the Silversmith plate which I haven’t got, so mine uses Macabre again. This is a red base (I’ve used a pre-coloured to save time). This is then stamped in the foil stamping polish in black, all over with a lace design. Their example has a floral pattern, mine uses skulls. This is top coated and buffed and the mandala stamped in the gel stamping polish. Flash cured on the stamper before transferring to the nail, fully cured once stamped and then chromed – love how this looks, so much detail. I used an Amit MoYou plate to add the text, and I shrunk this to make it smaller.

Bottom right: Same background design, this time I used the keys instead of the mandala and a white butterfly with a skull. This I didn’t shrink, and I should have as I think it would have looked more proportional. Loving the Moyra tutorials, they are really helping me practice different techniques and ideas.
