Moyra Tutorials and Crystals

Moyra tutorial catch up.

Top left – Silversmith plate, matte finish to nail, chromed stamp with shiny top coat over the chrome, and a couple of tiny gems added.

2nd from left – top row – light pink base, with a flower sticker. Matte top coat to seal it in and then stamped over the top with a gold leaf pattern, A circle is then rubbed away with plate cleaner, so the flower is uncovered and a small area around it.

Another layer of matte top coat seals it again and then the circle is outlined in a gold glitter and three small crystals added to the glitter circle, with caviar beads at either end. I also covered the glitter with top coat to protect it from fall out – but that wasn’t in the tutorial, and it looks better without. But I need longevity.

Top row centre. I used stickers instead of stamps as I was too lazy to get up and look for a doggy stamping plate. I mixed the base colour using white and a tiny bit of blue and then added Moyra 111 mini gel over the top. I love this colour, it’s a light iridescent glitter blue that just sparkles in the light so beautifully. I think this is my favourite gel, or one of my top faves anyway. It’s just so so stunning.

I top coated in shiny top coat and buffed, then added the stickers. I top coated in shiny no wipe top coat again and after curing added black spider gel. Once the spider gel had cured I added a caviar bead over the spider gel. Cute design, and the dog sticker is iridescent and catches the light when you move it around. Cute and wearable.

2nd from right – top row. This one is a bit of a disaster. From start to finish. The grey base is too dark. The yellow colour behind is too pale. I chromed the rabbit but didn’t protect the layer underneath so ended up chroming the yellow when I added a brown chrome. (not in the tutorial).

Then I couldn’t get the text in foil black stamping polish to not be blurred. I did use the super sizer stamper to make it smaller though.

Top right – messing about with crystals.

Bottom left, another tutorial – I used a pink foil for the butterfly and it bled when I coated it in matte top coat – annoying!!

Bottom right – jewellery with matte and shiny – to give the effect of jewels and water. Not enough clear space so the effect doesn’t really come off.

Ah well, room for improvement on all of them. My fave is top second left – this one needs re-doing as it looks so good on the tutorial.

And that’s a wrap. 3 12 hour shifts coming in the next 3 days, so probably won’t be posting anytime soon. TTFN…
