Getting more practice in with crystals

First day alone in the house today as the kids have gone back to school after the half term break. I’ve really felt the absence of Lil. No one to come for a cuddle or sit next to me on the couch, or following me from room to room. No need to get the Dreamies out as Phil is much more of a loner. So sad 🙁

Today’s nails are more crystals. These are all copied from designs out there on the net. Today I have found some amazing crystal nail designs from a company called Illuminating Nail. These are my new nail goals!

Look at those lovelies! There are so many more inspiring nails on their Insta page.

Back on topic though – today’s nails.

This is a Guibofu nude colour for the base, and a selection of the crystals and caviar beads from my stock.

Third nail has the scattered foil effect I learnt yesterday. Awesome to put something into practice already. For the fourth nail, I had a load of caviar beads left in my tray so bunged them all on to save chucking them away. I love how you can see the reflection of the gems on the nail next to it on the matte base.

I think the TGB By Appointment Only colour would also be an excellent base colour for this. Nude but with a hint of sparkle.

On the third nail the gem was a little cloudy so I coated it in top coat to make it shine again – which does improve the shine, but also makes it look smoother rather than showing the facets, so I’m not sure it’s ideal. On the first nail the pear shape was an iridescent colour, but when I tried to polish it to a shine, the colour came off! Temu! Good for practice, not for wearing out and about.

The fourth nail I loaded up with fixing gel and applied all the beads and spacer caviar beads before curing. Fixing gel is amazing! It held them all in place nicely. I might try chroming the underneath when I’m doing a full side design next time, just to see what it looks like with no nail colour showing through.

TTFN!
