Layered Stamping

Not the best photo quality today, but shattered after doing 4 night shifts.

Today’s inspiration was the Kads Nature 032 plate, but from memory, so, um yeah, loads of room for improvement.
So, I painted the tips P+ Blue Skies Ahead by Light Elegance, then I added a matte coat to the centre nail and used black pigment powder to create the ombre effect round the edges. When I was finally finished with this a lot had come off from the outer edge of the nail, so I added a border of Lecente Black Magic gel and feathered it in.
On top of that I added Venus flakes from Yours to the centre of the tip, then stamped on the moon – but added the shade in black instead of grey so it looked a bit pants. It also lined up on one side, but not the other, so then I went back and added some grey, hmmmm, not great.
After that I added the back line of trees with the birds in black. This didn’t quite reach the end so I added more to the left and right sides. I added wolves in purple and you couldn’t see them at all, so I went over in white and missed a bit on both wolves, so they look like they are howling. Not intentional but survivable. After that I decided I needed more birds, so added metallic purple birds which really don’t work.
I’m not happy with the colours and the lack of being able to see each layer, but I do love it, and tweaking the colours should make this design awesome.
For the two sides I used a normal purple with matte coat and metallic purple with shiny top. The matte top started to bleed the stamp, so need to think how I might do this next time – maybe do a shiny top first to protect the stamp, and then a matt coat to dull the shine. I really love the example of the plate image below so going to need to try this one again – especially the moon and the different tree layers.
