Happy Valentine’s Day nails
Today is the day! These nails are not Valentine’s nails though, and it’s a bit of a shorter session today as work have advertised a short notice shift for tonight, and I need the money, so I’m going in.
So, today’s is a quick one. 2 more crystal designs, the one on the left on the pink base, is a template design, although not quite right. I think that some of the round crystals should have been larger which would have balanced the design a bit better. The one next to this on the bluey-purpley-grey background is my own design. It’s got a heart in it, so might be considered Valentine’sy, I guess?
Next to this, the yellow background, is a Guibofu colour, with Nailchemy Hocus Pocus top coat. I wanted to get a picture of this, because it is amazing. Perfect for jazzing up a boring colour, and because it is see through with just a glitter / holo sparkle, it goes over everything. The nail on the far right is this with a matte top / finish.
In real life, these nails are a bit bulky so I thought I would use Photoshop to trim them, but to save time, I did it really roughly, and you can really tell I rushed.
The nail 2nd from the right is another Nailchemy colour – it’s Akashic, which I only have in a small 5ml bottle. It is the most stunning colour ever. Really it deserves a full post of it’s own.
G’s birthday is coming up so I had a quick look at gold charms for her, and OMG the price of gold is ridiculous. Prices start at £215 for a decent charm and the other I looked at was £245. Sadly, I don’t think I will be able to ever afford to buy new charms for her bracelet again.
I did my budget yesterday and discovered that I can survive a flat months pay, but overtime really sweetens the deal. If I can bank 40 hours per month and 5 travel expense claims I can consider myself flush. Without the overtime, there really isn’t any spare money left when I’ve bought fuel, food and pet supplies and paid all the bills.
Some of the keyboards in work are really awful, with keys that stick or don’t have markings on them anymore. From now on, I’m taking my own keyboard in with me. We hot desk, and they are all USB keyboards, so hopefully tonight will be a lot better. No more missing n’s or o’s or a’s so the spelling on my logs should be much better.
