Crystals and Water Decals

Today’s practice includes more crystals (surprised?) and today I thought I would try one of the Moyra water decals I have – they are so, so small.
Top left – I managed to bag a pack of genuine Swarovski crystals in the Sweet Squared sale – £10 plus VAT instead of the usual £60. I went back for more, but I wasn’t quick enough and the sale ended. Note for Boxing Day / Black Friday next time – get the crystals first, and the Yours plates second.
So, for this design I wanted to use the Swarovski crystals, so I could compare them to the others, and there is a definite difference. They are so, so sparkly. I used 7 crystals to make a star design, and then added caviar beads to finish off. This isn’t my own design, this is another copy from a template. These crystals are in light pink and size 9 I think – they are outstanding.
Top centre – this is a design from the Blue Streak Crystals website, and I needed a Nail Order extra long coffin tip to fit it on. I used CJP Miss Molly for the base colour and just a bunch of other crystals that I have and I love how this turned out. Wish there were more of them on the Blue Streak website.
Ooohh – exciting! There are loads of them:

Top right – This is another template design, it is a star made up of a variety of round crystals, caviar beads and 4 marquise shaped crystals. I didn’t have the exact ones from the website, but had plenty of similar that I could use instead.
Bottom left – I had a look through my crystal collection and found one centre piece design that I wanted to use, it looked a bit bare on it’s own, so, I winged it a bit and filled in the bottom bit around the crystal. Looks alright, won’t give up my day job just yet lol.
Bottom centre – I decided I wanted to try one of the Moyra water decals that I have. I didn’t want to waste them, so I picked the smallest design, and a small nail to pop it on – and even on the tiny size, it didn’t fit so they probably aren’t going to work on my bit fat fongers. I didn’t use enough water to slide it off the backing so – mental note – I need to use more next time.
Bottom right – I wanted to try stamping a design, and then adding small gems to it. I just wanted a quick go at doing this and I found the Yours lace print, chromed it with a Magpie chrome and popped caviar beads on the larger bits. I don’t like this design – but I will try again with other patterns, as I think it may work with the crystals as flower centre pieces, or little sparkly highlights that catch the eye. Needs re-working anyhoo.
