A Little Bit of Everything

I needed to replace the thumb nail on my left hand. It’s a bit of a mish-mash, and I’m not sure if I like the finished nail.
First I had to file and clip away all the lifted / old nail enhancement.
This is the nail with the greenie on it – I decided not to remove all of the product previously, and must have trapped some water inside. Never again!
Once that was done I used Nail Order Glory to create the nail shape. I’m getting better at the application of the builder gel, and used a fine brush to move product to the sides and ends. Still needs work, but improving!
I also dipped the brush in alcohol and used it to pop any air bubbles, however, I still missed 3 small ones.
Then I filed to smooth and improve the finish. Sides are still a bit rubbish and seem to need quite a bit of filing. TGB S’Mores has been catching my eye so I painted and cured 2 layers.
I then added Glitter Planet foil gel on one half of the nail and cured for 120 seconds. I placed on Lecente Lilac Flowers and added gold Lecente striping tape at the edge to neaten it up. I don’t like the striping tape. It has a couple of bits along the edge that aren’t flush with the nail – and it’s all I can see when I look at it. Grrr!
I coated in Magpie Give Me Strength clear – a couple of thin coats, and topped with TGB Extreme Shine Top Coat.
The S’Mores is a beautiful pink shimmer with a gold tone at certain angles. It is just beautiful.
This nail design grew on me a little over the night shift, but, not sure I’d do it again. But yeah, that’s the thumb done for a few weeks (hopefully).
