13th February Nail Session

Today’s practise session… A little bit of everything.
On the left – Glitterbels Bang On gel colour base. I used Moyra foil stamping gel in black and the MoYou Animal 17 plate for the stamp patterns. I chromed using Magpie chrome. I painted the white of the bones after stamping and before chroming, which is why it looks very “rustic”.
For the bottom two lines I wanted to add glitter, rather than chrome, and used a Lecente glitter – can’t remember which one sadly.
2nd nail from the left – this is another Bluestreak Crystal’s design with a couple of adaptations because I didn’t have the right gems. The base colour for this one is Glitterbels Comet. This took a while and I boobed a little on the colours, but, it’s all practice.
Centre nail – back to the Bang on base colour and this time I wanted to do a glitter French. What I should have done is painted the French first, so that the underneath colour matched the glitter better. The glitter I used this time is Lecente Mercury, which is super fine, and super shiny based on the reflective twinkle on this picture.
2nd nail from the right – I wanted to change it up a bit for the base and hadn’t yet tried Nailchemy Selene which is the most glittery gold gel ever. Not sure what to do so I stamped the Vintage Lace Yours plate and chromed in brown – it’s impossible to make out what this is because of the shine.
On the right – I haven’t tried foils for a while, so thought I would finish with a pre painted tip with a foil on. This is the second attempt – I just couldn’t get the foil to stick. This is a Hona foil, and I’ve used the Photoshop heal tool to tidy it up a bit, as it was such a mess!
Mostly the crystal nail is my favourite in this batch, the rest, I am not really that sure about. Can’t all be brilliant I guess.
That’s it for today. TTFN.
Oh – nearly forgot, I filled in the form on the BlueStreak Crystals website so that I could purchase Swarovski crystals from them, and it was all signed off today. I went onto the website and filled a basket with things I would like. £164. Ouch!! I trimmed my basket a bit and got is down to £135.05. I so nearly checked out using PayPal pay it later, but then decided to log into my bank to check out my finances, and I am so glad I did.
That prompted me to do my budget to find out how much money I would need for the rest of the month – payday isn’t too far away thank god. As a result of this, I managed to close down the shopping basket window and hold fire on buying the crystals – for now. I can look back at this in the future when I have some savings to blow. Thank god, no spend 2025 is still going strong.
